THE VISION OF TWO SIMILAR ANGELS
A Testimony By Simbarashe Makonese
INTRODUCTION
Sometime early in 2025, I had an experience that left a permanent mark on how I receive revelation from God and make conclusions in scriptures.
From childhood, I have been a person of revelations, and I do a lot of reading, especially of the Bible.
By the year 2014, I had a record of more than 200 handwritten revelatory experiences by which God gave me directions in relation to my life and assignment on earth.
I read through the New Testament when I was in form 2, and I had finished through the whole Bible 17 and a half times in 2004.
It is when I was reading through the four gospels that I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit saying, "Study the words of Jesus in the gospels and take them as if He is talking to you."
As I am writing this testimony, I am a doctoral graduate of theology with Northwestern Christian University of Florida, USA; and I am writing exams for my second doctorate in Peace and Conflict Resolution with Christ Army Theological Seminary.
I write this background not because I am proud of my education and neither do I feel secure from deception because of it - which is natural to do.
To the contrary, I count it as dung like the apostle Paul so that I may learn Christ.
Philippians 3:4-8 (WEB), "Though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has confidence in the flesh, I yet more: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the assembly; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless. However, I consider those things that were gain to me as a loss for Christ. Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be a loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ."
In January 2004, I fasted for 40 days (excluding nights) by the instruction of the Holy Spirit, and towards the end of this fast I went to a secluded place to pray overnight.
During the prayer, I was filled with an overwhelming hunger and desire to see Jesus. Throughout the whole night, my prayer was of asking God to reveal Jesus to me - and in my mind I meant a physical manifestation of Christ.
A voice whispered in my heart, "I am coming to your house tomorrow at 6 pm." How excited I was! The next day, I was alone at home, cleaned up, and prepared for the visitation of Jesus Christ by 6 pm.
I was expecting to hear a knock on my door and receive Jesus into the house at 6 pm; but nothing of that sort happened.
I waited, and after 30 minutes, I lost patience. I then prayed to register my disappointment with God saying, "Lord you told me that you are coming to visit me at 6 pm. I have been here waiting for you since but You didn't show up."
How wrong I was! But the Spirit of Christ in His merciful love gently said, "No, I have been here since 6 and you didn't know. I will not show Myself to you physically, but I will reveal Myself through the Word." I understood this to mean that I would receive the revelation of Jesus Christ in the scriptures.
Over the past year and a few months, the Lord has taken apostle Charles Mawungwa and I through a journey where are receiving the revelation of Jesus Christ in the scriptures, and we have had to empty ourselves of any knowledge we had received in order to receive this understanding.
Before this time, Charles and I have developed a relationship where we run our revelations through each other so that stay on course and are not running in vain.
Galatians 2:2 (WEB), "I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Good News which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain."
With this background laid, now I can go on to share with you my vision of the two similar angels.
THE EXPERIENCE
From around October of 2023 and December 2024, I had a few revelatory experiences in which the angel of the LORD who is assigned to my ministry revealed himself to me and brought important messages of instruction and guidance from Jesus Christ.
One night as I was asleep, I was caught up in a vision. The heavens opened above me and I saw a very powerful and handsome looking angel looking at me from heaven.
He looked exactly like the angel of the LORD assigned to my ministry, and for a moment I thought it was him.
As someone whose mind is trained to test all spirits including angels (especially after I read Charles' book on "The Ministry of Fallen Angels in the Church," and having lost the most gifted brother to deception by fallen angels from among us, and who had contributed an article to the same book), I decided to test this angel.
I was not given the ability to talk to him and ask if he serves the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth who died at Calvary and rose on the third day, but I was able to discern just by looking at him.
As I looked intently, I saw that though he was surrounded by light, he did not have the glory and aura of God's presence that I always see and feel whenever I encounter an angel of God.
Rather I perceived the aura of evil and that His light was the deception of darkness. Immediately after that a voice spoke from another heaven above from another angel who appeared besides the first angel.
This angel looked exactly like the first angel except that he had the real aura and glory of God's presence. This was the true angel assigned to me and my ministry.
The voice from above said, "For every revelation you will receive, you must test it with the scriptures before you can receive and believe it. If it is not in the Bible, do not accept it."
I receive most of my revelations as thoughts in my heart during meditation on scriptures, so I understood this message to mean that there is a fallen angel of Satan who looks and operates exactly like my angel, but the difference between him and God's angel is that his revelations can not be found in and proven directly through scriptures, while the revelations of Jesus Christ by His angel are found directly in, and in perfect alignment with the scriptures.
As a person who gets many revelations, I must submit them to the authority and thorough scrutiny of the scriptures in the same way I test other people's teachings.
Years ago, I learned by reading the books of Kenneth Hagin that Jesus is not offended by us asking for proof of His revelations in the scriptures.
Whatever is not found directly in the Bible I put aside and stick with the Bible. And if it is in the Bible, I have to practice it and prove the revelation in my personal life at least once before I can share it with anyone else, unless if the Holy Spirit has instructed me to share - and it must be validated by the scriptures.
Charles and I live by this standard, and as he said, the teachings of Jesus Christ must be the foundation, upon which all other doctrines can be laid.
I am repeating this for emphasis, for a word is established with two or three witnesses.
2 Corinthians 13:1 (NKJV), "This will be the third time I am coming to you. “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.”
We recently learnt that every true concept must be found:
- In God's covenant with Israel (Old Testament) as a type
- In the lives of the patriachs, starting with Adam
- In the life of Jesus Christ (Four Gospels) as His personal reality and fulfillment of prophecy (Old Testament prophets)
- In the letters of the apostles as the teachings of Jesus Christ by the revelation of the Holy Spirit
Until you can find and prove any revelation in these four places, I recommend that you do not accept or share it as truth.
