INTRODUCTION
Many beliefs captivate human imagination, including the idea of spiritual spouses, supernatural entities that engage intimately with individuals in dreams.
These entities, biblically understood as demons, disrupt romantic relationships, marriages, and personal well-being.
This teaching explores:
》The identity, origins, and influence of spiritual spouses. We will examine spiritual spouses in two forms: the female demon who engages in sexual encounters with men in their dreams, and the male demon who preys upon sleeping women.
》Biblical and historical perspectives on their existence. We will explore the historical and cultural roots of these realities, tracing their origins to ancient records of fallen angels and their forbidden unions with mortal beings, leading to their birth as a hybrid race of bastards known as the nephilim.

THE IDENTITY, SOURCE AND ORIGINS OF SPIRITUAL SPOUSES
Meaning
Spiritual spouses are demons responsible for illegal marriage and sexual intercourse with human beings in dreams to spread the demonic race.
These evil spirits have a male and female type.
Female Spiritual Spouses
Isaiah speaks about a night creature and screech owl whose Hebrew name Lilith.
Isaiah 34:14 (LITV), "The desert creatures shall also meet with the howlers; and the shaggy goat shall cry to his fellow. The screech owl (Lilith) shall also settle there, and find a place of rest for herself."
The BDB defines Lilith as the "name of a female goddess known as a night demon who haunts the desolate places of Edom.
She is portrayed as a dangerous demon of the night, associated with sexual immorality and the killing of babies in various Jewish sources, including the Babylonian Talmud and the Zohar.
Lilith, also called ‘succubus’ in Latin, is the demon that has sexual intercourse with a sleeping man in his dreams, using the face of a female close to him.
According to Wikipedia, ‘a succubus is a demon or supernatural entity in folklore, in female form, that appears in dreams to seduce men, usually through sexual activity.
According to religious traditions, repeated sexual activity with a succubus can cause poor physical or mental health, even death.
When a human has intercourse with a demon over long amounts of time like a month, they will start feeling a need for more sex with the demon or go insane from how much life force they have lost.
The succubus is also known as the earth wanderer, she seeks her victims by disguising herself as a young beautiful woman, seducing men.’
The Male Spiritual Spouse
The male type called ‘incubus’ in Latin is the demon sleeps with a woman in her dreams. An incubus is a male demon who preys on women, especially while they are sleeping.
They rape and impregnate women. The victim may wake during the rape, or may not know anything has happened until her health suddenly deteriorates as she hosts the incubus’ bloodsucking baby.
According to the New World Encyclopedia, ‘the incubus drains energy from the woman on whom it lies in order to sustain itself…’
This happens as somewhere in the past there was an evil marriage that took place between the person and the demon, with or without the person’s knowledge.
Some people are married to spiritual spouses in the disguise of spiritual help when they visit witch doctors, spiritualists, and/or false ministers of the gospel.
Others are given spiritual spouses as children (minors) through such ‘spiritual help’ by their parents.
Some people are given goblins and/or gnomes from witch doctors as lucky charms for business, and when someone gets these spirits they ask for two things: blood and a spouse.
The owner then calls the name of the victim before the spiritualist, and tells the spirit that the victim belongs to it. This normally causes the victim to dream wedding a faceless person.
Witch doctors also assign an avenging spirit (demon) of someone (usually unmarried) who was killed by a member of the family of a murderer to claim that the women or men in the clan are theirs, or to claim an individual as since its spouse since the murdered person it represents was not given the chance to marry.
Avenging spirits are evil spirits sent to seek revenge for some murder of a person, and insolved, during their lifetime.
Some people get magical charms or love portions such as ‘mubobobo’ (a Shona charm for ‘remote-control sex’) from witch doctors, and use them as traditionally medicated means to sleep with someone feels for you sexually but cannot or will not approach you the normal way whilst he or she is awake or asleep.
Mubobobo is the act of witchcraft by which a man gets a charm for the purposes of magic that gives him power to have sex with a woman without her consent and without any contact. This is earned mubobobo the nickname ‘bluetooth sex” or “wireless sex”.
There are two types of mubobobo. The first type is practiced in broad daylight where the female victim, feels sexually aroused in a public place as if someone having sex with her.
The second type of mubobobo is at night where the female victim dreams of sexual intercourse taking place near her by people or animals, or sees a man masturbating.
Some women are accused of using mubobobo on unsuspecting males too, it is not just men who use it. Such charms are powered to operate by the male and female demons.
The issue of sexual relations between human beings started with fallen angels who lusted after women and married them, which resulted in the birth of the giant race of demons known in Hebrew as the ‘nephilim.'
Genesis 6:1-6 (NIV), "When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled."
The sons of God (Hebrew ‘Bene Elohim’) who fathered the Nephilim were angels. In the Old Testament it is angels only who were sons of God (Job 1:6; 38:7).
The apostle Peter calls them ‘the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient when the patience of God was waiting in the days of Noah (1Pe 3:19-20).
Jude also speaks of them as ‘the angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place. ’
Jude 1:6 (WEB), "Angels who didn’t keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day."
The Hebrew ‘nephilim’ means ‘fellers; those who cause (others) to fall down.’ It stems from the Hebrew verb ‘naphalʹ’ for ‘fall.’ The Nephilim were the famous ‘heroes’ or ‘mighty ones’ (from Hebrew ‘haggibborim’ for ‘giants.’
The Ancient Greek translation of nephilim is ‘daimon’ or ‘daimónion’ which is ‘demon’ in English. So, demons are not fallen angels, but are the hybrid offspring of fallen angels and human beings.
And the demons that pose as spiritual spouses do so to continue producing more demons using humans. The hybrid offspring of the union between a demon and a human being is called a cambion.
A cambion is a renowned demonic offspring of a succubus and an incubus. To create a cambion, a succubus demon must extract the semen of a man in his sleep, and then pass on the sperm to an incubus demon, which then transfers the semen to a sleeping woman, who becomes pregnant.
A succubus demon is a seducing spirit, and it extracts the semen of a man while he is awake by seducing him to masturbate through lustful meditation.
According to Wikipedia;
"Cambion comes from the Late Latin cambiare 'to exchange', and ultimately from the Celtic root "kamb", meaning crooked or exchange. In its earliest known uses, the word is used for a changeling, the child of fairies or demons who has been substituted for a human baby. William of Auvergne, in his 13th-century work De Universo, wrote of "cambiones, from cambiti, that is 'having been exchanged'": the "sons of incubi demons". These false infants constantly wail for milk and cannot be satisfied even by four nurses."
An incubus demon can also impregnate a woman who is awake by seducing her to masturbate.
Masturbation is the sin of pleasuring oneself sexually, and by which humans willingly help birth demonic offspring.
While the Bible does not openly mention masturbation, there are a few passages that provide guidance on matters related to sexual conduct and self-control.
One such passage is the story of Onan in the book of Genesis. Onan was instructed by his father to fulfill his duty to his deceased brother's wife by producing offspring with her.
But, Onan spilled his seed on the ground instead of fulfilling his duty. His action was seen as a great sin and he was condemned to death for it.
Genesis 38:8-10 (BBE) says, "Then Judah said to Onan, Go in to your brother's wife and do what it is right for a husband's brother to do; make her your wife and get offspring for your brother. But Onan, seeing that the offspring would not be his, went in to his brother's wife, but let his seed go on to the earth, so that he might not get offspring for his brother. And what he did was evil in the eyes of the Lord, so that he put him to death, like his brother."
In this story it is a clear that God disapproves any form of sexual activity that does not result in procreation, including masturbation.
Propagation of the cambion demons is such an important assignment to spiritual spouses such that they teach false ministers of the gospel to forbid those who leaders in their churches (such as priests/monks and sisters/nuns) from getting married so they are readily available for the demons.
They forbid their church members from eating some meats like pork so that their bodies are in good condition for demonic use.
1 Timothy 4:1-3, "But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience, forbidding to marry, and to abstain from meats which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.”
In the Bible, Dagon is a major Philistine god and male demon associated with fertility and agriculture, often pictured as a merman with a half man and half fish form in ancient Near Eastern traditions and later mythologies.
According to Abarim publications, Dagon means "fish-guy, oracle, crystal ball, or effortless revealer of abundant secrets." Dagon is from the noun "dag" (fish), or "dagan" (grain), or from the verb "daga" (to multiply or increase).
The most notable mention of Dagon appears in 1 Samuel 5, where the captured Ark of the Covenant is placed in his temple in Ashdod. Miraculously, the statue of Dagon is found fallen and broken before the Ark, symbolizing Yahweh's supremacy over false gods and His judgment against idolatry.
TYPES OF SPIRITUAL SPOUSES
Besides the male and female types of spiritual spouses we saw in the previous teaching, there are different types or groups of spiritual spouses based on their manner of operation.
Mysterious Spiritual Spouse
First is the mysterious spiritual spouse. In this case after the demon has had sexual intercourse with its victim, the victim will wake up and not remember anything that happened in the dream.
Some people in the church sadly reject the existence and operation of spiritual spouses just because they don't have knowledge about them.
The problem with ignorance is that it does not exempt its possessor from facing the danger of what he does not know. Rather, ignorance gets people destroyed.
Hosea 4:6 (LITV), "My people are cut off for lack of knowledge. Because you rejected the knowledge, I also rejected you from being priest to Me. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I will forget your sons, even I."
The fact that you don't know about spiritual spouses does not mean that you are free from them and their evil. A person who is aware of their existence is better off than the one who doesn't.
Knowledge of the cause of your challenges is half solving the problem. Pray that God will expose every hidden enemy in your life.
Partially known Spiritual Spouse
Again, there is the partially known spiritual spouse. This type of spiritual spouse appears to its victims using the face of the victim’s actual wife or husband.
You may think that it is your physical spouse that is appearing to you, if you are ignorant of the scriptures.
Demons use the face of your late relatives or loved ones as a disguise, so that you trust and accept them. No wonder we should not talk to the dead.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (LITV), "There shall not be found in you one who passes his son or his daughter through the fire, one that uses divination, an observer of clouds, or one divining, or a whisperer of spells, or a magic charmer, or one consulting mediums, or a spirit-knower, or one inquiring of the dead. For all doing these things are an abomination to Jehovah. And because of these filthy acts Jehovah your God is dispossessing these nations before you."
Deceptive Spiritual Spouse
The third type is a deceptive spiritual spouse. This demon comes with different faces or uses the faces of different people to sleep with their victims.
You might think those people are the ones doing the act and start avoiding them, if you are ignorant.
2 Corinthians 2:11 (WEB), "That no advantage may be gained over us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes."
Known Spiritual Spouse
The fourth type is the known spiritual spouse. This demon is normally one that came through a known spiritual covenant established by the ministry of a demonic priest at an evil altar.
Usually when people approach spiritualists and false prophets seeking help with problems such as child bearing challenges or problems in marital relationships, they are unknowingly ushered into contracts with evil spirits which will claim them or their children as their marital spouses.
1 John 4:1 (WEB), "Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
In Zimbabwe, the traditional practice of "kuuchikwa" (also "kuuchika") by spiritualists and false prophets, is associated with fertility and strengthening both seeds for planting and a woman's fertility.
In agriculture, it is a process of strengthening seeds before planting to resist diseases and pests, involving elders taking seeds to spirit mediums for blessings and distribution to the community.
For humans, "kuuchikwa" is done to help with conception, especially when couples face difficulties. It involves herbal remedies, spiritual guidance, and traditional practices to enhance fertility.
Some view the rituals associated with "kuuchikwa" with concern, particularly those performed at apostolic shrines, citing potential spiritual and physical risks.
Marriages established through such means often produce very naughty children who can not be married to human beings, as they are married to demonic spirits from birth.
PROOFS/SIGNS OF SPIRITUAL SPOUSES
Sexual relationships or marriage ceremony in dreams
Constant wet dreams, dreaming of having intimate relations with an unknown person or being raped and sexually molested is a sign of the presence of a spiritual spouse in your life.
Missing one’s menstrual period or pregnancy in a dream maybe a sign that you have been impregnated by a demon.
If you dreamed of yourself being wedded to someone whose face you did not see, there is a spiritual spouse in your life.
An evil marriage covenant was established with the spirit spouse and you cannot be free until that marriage is destroyed.
Shopping or doing house cores with a member of the opposite sex in the dream proves the existence of a marriage covenant with a spiritual spouse.
Seeing a member of the opposite gender sleeping by one’s side in a dream is another proof.
Delayed marriage or no marriage at all
Where there is a spiritual spouse and covenant, you will find it difficult to get married in the natural and the demon will stop you from getting your marital blessings.
If, for instance, you get married, you may have a great difficulty in having children.
A spiritual spouse can cause one who is married to hate or be hated by their actual spouse.
A woman possessed by a marital demon may overreact in anger against her actual husband and switch to a male authoritative voice and tone when speaking.
A man with a marital demon may become too touchy emotionally and raise his voice speaking with the tone of a woman.
Hatred of marriage and members of the opposite gender
Unnatural hatred for the institution of marriage most often is as a result of the presence of a spiritual spouse.
Some spiritual spouses come with a belief system and mindset that is opposed to the biblical concept of marriage so that they may fence their victim and keep him or her to themselves.
Some people develop strong hatred for members of the opposite gender only in the context of marriage.
This is often linked with a past traumatic experience of betrayal which may have been inspired by a spiritual spouse in their own lives.
Being rejected by seriously committed partners and recurring patterns of rejection
Everyone in life experiences rejection at some point in relationships.
But when the rejection is from a person who was committed to you and serious about settling down, it may be true that there is a spiritual spouse working against you.
This is almost certainly true if you notice a cyclical pattern of rejection that repeats itself in your life.
Breast-feeding a baby in the dream
Some people find themselves breastfeeding babies in their dreams.
It is a sign also that they have demonic babies in the spirit realm, and this blocks their chances of having children in the natural.
Having a family in the dream
Some people are at a stage where they have spiritual children and a family with the spiritual spouse, and this is often reflected in their dreams.
I once prayed for a woman who saw herself in dreams taking care of spiritual babies that appeared with inhuman features of snakes and frogs.
She was struggling to get married because she had allowed herself to be a mother of a demonic family.
Complicated child bearing problems
Some child bearing problems are an evidence of the work of spiritual spouses, especially when the complications defy medical science and are of a recurring nature.
This is especially true when there is a spiritual spouse by whom the victim has spiritual children.
Having a miscarriage after sexual dreams, for example, is a sure sign of the activity of a spiritual spouse against child bearing.
As we have seen already, it is not the woman who is the victim all the time. Sometimes it is the man who may be struggling with issues like low sperm count among others.
And also a spiritual spouse in your life may attack the sexuality of your actual spouse.
It is important then that couples seek to find solutions with blaming each other. This is spiritual warfare.
DELIVERANCE AND FREEDOM FROM SPIRITUAL SPOUSES
THE LEGALITY OF SPIRITUAL SPOUSES AND HOW TO BE FREE FROM THEIR OPPRESSION
Spiritual spouses are not legal to the born again Christian, so legally they do not exist.
When you received Christ, you became one spirit with His and your body is now the temple of the Holy Spirit.
1 CCorinthians 17-19 (ESV), “But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him, Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.”
No other spirit apart from the Holy Spirit is legally allowed to have access to your body, and you are free to marry.
Sadly many believers are unaware of this, and are abused and oppressed by these spirits in their ignorance.
You might have been married to a demon somehow before, but after you got born of the Spirit that marriage ceased to be a reality in the spirit.
It is not right to call that demon a ‘spiritual husband or wife,’ for you are now married to Christ as His bride, and from the moment you got saved the demon became a spiritual rapist.
Some Christians struggle to receive freedom after having prayed for wrongly for a long time without results such that the oppressive spirit has formed a stronghold in their mind.
If that is your case, let me assure you that you yourself have the authority to dispel that evil spirit without anyone’s help.
You should first realize that when you got saved you assumed a new position in Christ Jesus.
God has made you to sit together with Christ in His office of authority at the right hand of the Father, far above the fallen angels and their demonic offspring, including spiritual spouses.
They have all been put under your feet in Christ!
Ephesians 1:20-22, “Which He worked in Christ in raising Him from the dead, and He seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, far above all principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name being named, not only in this world, but also in the coming age. And He has put all things under His feet and gave Him to be Head over all things to the church.”
Ephesians 2:5-6, “(even when we were dead in sins) has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), and has raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus.”
Since you are above these spirits and they are under your feet, it means that they are subject to you and will follow your faith-filled orders as a child of God!
Steps to Freedom from Spiritual Spouses
If you are currently suffering from the operation of these evil spirits, below are the steps you need to take in order to surely get your permanent deliverance and freedom from their oppression.
Every person who has taken these steps as outlined below has received their deliverance and freedom from the demons posing as spiritual spouses.
Please do not take the easy steps and skip the ones you don’t feel comfort with, it will not work.
Otherwise you may just want to ignore this message and stay bound by that demon as you are.
If you have already been born of the Spirit as a child of God, kindly ignore the first step and start from the second.
If you are not yet a child of God, be sure to receive Jesus Christ by confessing your faith in Him.
Romans 10:9-10, “Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.”
Say out loud this prayer with faith in your heart,
“Dear Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I believe that You gave Your life on the cross and rose from the dead at Calvary on the third day, for me. I invite You to come into my heart to be my Lord and God from now on. I am a sinner, and ask You to take away my sin according to Your mercy. Amen!’

1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
If you were involved in a sexual sin that violated another person such as adultery you need to confess your sin to your spouse and to a mature minister of the gospel who will counsel the two of you, and pray asking God to forgive you.
James 5:15-16, “And the prayer of faith will cure the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him. Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much.”
In repentance you must genuinely feel sorry for your sins against God, yourself and others.
God will not deliver you from a spirit behind the sin you enjoy doing without any sense of guilt or shame.
Declare your new position in Christ with faith. Say out loud these words:
‘I am a child of God! I am joined to the Lord Jesus Christ, and I am one spirit with Him! My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I dedicate it to Him and His use alone!’
Renounce that spiritual rapist posing as your spouse and break its grip over your life by authoritatively saying out loud these words:
‘You foul spirit that has been posing as my husband/wife and abusing my body, I serve a notice to you that we are divorced, I am now joined with the Lord Jesus and my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So I command you right now to stop your activities in my body and come out of my life in the name of Jesus Christ!’
